About

A gallery without walls, run by the artists of tomorrow.

Student Art Market is run by students, for students. We exist to put original work by emerging student artists in front of collectors, curators and sponsors, and to put fair money in the hands of the people who made it. Every piece listed here is the earliest collectable work of an artist at the very start of their practice.

Each artist on this page is currently studying or recently graduated. Profiles include their background, practice and a catalogue of available works. If something speaks to you, enquire about a purchase, or, if you represent an organisation, ask us about sponsoring one of our exhibitions and putting your name behind the next generation.

"Buying a student's first work isn't charity. It's getting there before everyone else."

Undergrowth, No. 4Oil on canvas, 90 × 120 cm

Mai Linh Trần

Painting, MSc, Central Saint Martins

  • Undergrowth, No. 4, oil on canvas£1,200
  • Undergrowth, No. 7, oil on canvas£1,450
  • Canopy Study, oil on board£640

Vessel IIICast bronze, 34 cm

Daniel Okafor

Sculpture, MSc, Royal College of Art

This artist casts small bronze and copper vessels whose surfaces are deliberately left raw from the pour. Each casting flaw becomes a record of the moment the metal cooled, no two are alike, and none are repeatable. They work out of the university foundry on weekends.

  • Vessel III, cast bronze£3,200
  • Vessel V, cast copper£2,100
  • Pour Study (set of 3), bronze£950

Darkroom Drift 02Silver gelatin print, 50 × 60 cm, ed. of 5

Sofia Reyes

Photography, MSc, Goldsmiths

This artist shoots exclusively on expired film and prints everything by hand in the darkroom, letting chemical accidents shape the final image. The result is a series of near-abstract prints where the photograph and the process that ruined it become inseparable. Each print is editioned at five.

  • Darkroom Drift 02, silver gelatin, ed. 5£350
  • Darkroom Drift 05, silver gelatin, ed. 5£420
  • Expiry Date (triptych), C-type print£880
